Monday, Matthew covered a Valentine’s event happening in Video Horror Society which ends tomorrow. Despite editing that article I’ve no idea what the game actually is. Tuesday, Matthew also broke down the details of Atomic Heart‘s three separate editions, meanwhile, the game’s composer is donating his fee due to the game’s Russian connections. Wednesday, Samuel covered that Apex Legends‘ 16th season and fourth year have begun, and Alexx wants to date Alucard’s single cousin. Thursday, I continued my excitement for Free Lives’ eco-warrior ’em up that is Terra Nil.

Moving on to this week’s free game on the Epic Games Store, we have a real-time strategy war simulation from the perspective of a general playing a side-scrolling game of tower defense. It is Skirmish Mode Games’ 2022 game, Warpips. Set in more modern times than I’ve been playing as of late, operation desert kerfuffle sees you fighting back the tide of whatever is said to be evil but is in fact just the owners of oil. As a tower defense with a heavy emphasis on the tug-of-war that is commanding locations in war, Warpips is decent but highly repetitive.

All this week, you can pick up Warpips for free on the Epic Games Store until the morning of the 23rd of February. Moving on to next week, we’re continuing (seemingly) with the single small titles that are sometimes difficult to write a whole sentence about never mind a paragraph or two. Next week it is 2016’s Duskers, a Rogue-like in an extremely low-fi space exploration retro-style. Given the brief description of the game and what is readily apparent in screenshots, it is difficult to give a fully formed opinion on the title or have any excitement. We’ll see what it is like next week.
