Romancelvania Gets Full Release Date

Since I backed Romancelvania’s Kickstarter a while ago, I knew this news was on its way, but boy am I excited. Why wouldn’t I be? Who doesn’t want to play a handsome (or beautiful) Dracula, going on a dating show to woo one of 12 potential suitors? On top of that, it’s all wrapped up in a Metroidvania bow, they had me sold from the beginning!

Seriously though, from the moment I saw Romancelvania’s Kickstarter campaign I knew the developers at The Deep End Games had something special on their hands. Now, we finally know when Romancelvania will be hitting our PCs and our Consoles.

Romancelvania will release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on March 7^th. Nintendo Switch and PS4 players shouldn’t feel left out though, you just have to wait a little longer. There hasn’t been an official date for those two platforms, but the developers have expressed that they are on their way.

Here is what the press release has to say about the announcement, and Romancelvania itself. “The Deep End Games and 2124 Publishing– the studio featuring some of the brilliant minds behind the hit classic Bioshock – today announces the official release date for Romancelvania, launching on March 7 for PS5, XBOX X/S, Steam[,] and Epic Games, with Nintendo Switch coming at a later date. Today’s announcement also features a preview look at the game’s Love At First Bite introduction video, which teases all the potential suitors to romance, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Romancelvania was recently featured at the DevGamm Awards where the game won the Unreal Engine Choice award. Since Romancelvania’s Kickstarter Campaign and successful funding from the Epic Games Mega Grant Fund, Romancelvania has won the hearts of fans around the world, inviting gamers to dive into Transylvania, along with its protagonist – the lovelorn, brooding Drac, and a quirky cast of supporting characters.

Narrative Director Amanda Gardner also commented on the announcement, stating: “The world needs more love. And cheese-obsessed werewolves. And spicy, curvaceous pumpkin witches. With Romancelvania, The Deep End [is] committed to realizing the most fleshed-out, quirky, and irresistible characters for Drac to fall for or befriend. We’re constantly striving for players to feel invested in both the characters and the world in unexpected ways. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a combo of laughs, bloodlust, and tenderness anywhere else.”

I can’t overstate how hyped I am for Romancelvania. I love games that take a classic genre and do something quirky with it. Meshing a Metroidvania and Dating Sim together just sounds like fun. Add in the game’s clear raunchy humor and you’ve got a strong recipe. I just hope people are as excited about it as I am.
