Until you realize that Amazon Games has focused on MMOs since The Grand Tour Game flopped and more than a few canceled projects, you’d have thought there would be a The Boys tie-in game. Then again, I’m sure the ESRB would have something to say about gamifying that one scene where a bloke sneezed inside of a man. Nonetheless, there is an upcoming release that is aiming to be almost as vulgar (with a bit less gay sex) from the Australian studio Spitfire Interactive. I played a few hours of Capes last year. While it has its hurdles to jump, there is an idea there that I’m interested to see fully realized.

Announced yesterday, the upcoming super turn-based strategy title will be coming to PC and consoles under a new publishing deal forged between Spitfire Interactive and Daedalic Entertainment. “Capes was already in development from Spitfire Interactive for PC games [sic],” as the press release states. It continues with, “Still, with Daedalic Entertainment now publishing the game, the team is thrilled to be able to bring their tactical, turn-based game of superheroes battling to reclaim their city from the forces of evil to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S as well.”

Announced ahead of the Steam Next Fest this coming week, a new demo will be available from Monday, the 13th of February. In Capes, you assemble a new crew of supes to take back their city from an evil force trying to cage those with superpowers. While I wasn’t the most enthusiastic about Capes initially, I am hopeful to see where the turn-based strategy is upon release. There is no word on when that will be aside from the vague 2023 window, but one might assume the latter half of the year at this point.
