Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the next installment in Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade series was set to release in September of 2022. However, the release date has been sped up by an entire two months and will now be released on July 29th! In this past month, players have been inundated with delay after delay, and with a release as big as Xenoblade it comes as a breath of fresh air.

Nintendo made the announcement this morning via a new gameplay trailer showing off Xenoblade Chronicles 3 new systems and a party size of 7 characters. This is an increase from the three in previous installments. Along with the new gameplay, trailer fans were also shown off a special edition of the game containing both a steelbook case and an art book. No soundtrack or any other extra goodies will be present in this special edition, and it will be a My Nintendo Store exclusive.

Xenoblade is a big franchise for me and a lot of other JRPG players. Thankfully, the series seems to be slowly branching out into mainstream consciousness. The franchise has been active due to a remaster of the original Xenoblade Chronicles coming out two years ago, the popularity of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and an appearance of two characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It is safe to say the series has never been bigger and this third release will just add to the ever-growing popularity.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was added to my list of most anticipated games of 2022 when it shown off at a Nintendo Direct a few months ago. It has joined a list containing Hogwarts Legacy, Pocky and Rocky Reshrined, God of War Ragnarok, and Fire Emblem Three Hopes. Thankfully Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will temper the wait for these titles and guarantee players will be able to spend upwards of 100 hours enjoying a massive open world with an enticing story and maybe a conclusion to the Xenoblade story.
