What? You don’t remember what Destruction AllStars is? It is that really crap looking 47-year-old’s idea of what the kids find exciting about the Fortnite while lacking any personality. I for one, am shocked by this delay!

I’m not really. It looked awful when we saw it a few months ago, and I don’t trust it to have changed all too much in recent weeks. It fits with Sony’s other AllStars (or All-Stars) titles, a series of taking something others were doing and doing better. Remember PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale? The Super Smash Bros.-like with 90% of the characters being unfit for the type of game. Well, Destruction AllStars might not be the cross-brand fighter, yet; though it is the answer to “what if 2015’s Mad Max was bland and personality-less?”

The gameplay is a mix of third-person combat lacking a proper weight in its hits, and arena-style car-combat that looks like Hot Wheels now run Sony. I don’t know who this was aimed at; it is strange. Though we did get an update on its release yesterday, and it has been delayed. Sony’s director of product development, Pete Smith, said in the blog update on the game, “We’ve decided to move the game’s release from November 2020 to February 2021, where it will be included for two months in PlayStation Plus at no additional cost.”

Smith went on to say: “This may be disappointing news for some of you who were looking to play the game at launch, but we hope you understand the decision.” I honestly doubt that anyone would be. However, if you somehow were desperately wanting Destruction AllStars at the PS5 launch, both copies bought from the PlayStation Store or retail can be refunded at the point of purchase. Smith also noted the game is to get a new trailer in the coming week, meant to detail more about the game than the quick trailer we saw in June.

I guess we will see if the game can impress with the upcoming details. Destruction AllStars will now release sometime in February of 2021, there is no word as to why the delay has been made.
