Ace Combat 7 Coming to Nintendo Switch

The Ace Combat franchise is one of the most recognizable and beloved combat flight series in gaming. Its last release, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, pleased long-time fans as well as newcomers with jaw-dropping sky-high action. One of the few places you couldn’t play the game was on Nintendo Switch, but that will soon be changing. Here’s the latest on a new port of the award-winning game to Nintendo Switch.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown sold more than five million copies since its launch in 2019. The game is one of the most successful combat flight games in gaming history. We can expect to see those sales numbers increase this year when the title arrives on Nintendo Switch. While some knockoff games are available on the Nintendo eShop, having Ace Combat 7 on the Switch, particularly for handheld gameplay, seems like a dream come true.

The Nintendo Switch launch will include six DLC packs and a number of special items that have launched since the game’s release. The DLC offerings include:

If that wasn’t enough, some of the 25th anniversary DLC sets will be available for Switch at a later date, including the Original Aircraft Series Set, Experimental Aircraft Series Set, Cutting-edge Aircraft Series Set, and the Top Gun: Maverick Aircraft – Set. Like many who have played the game already on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, I really like this entry in the series. Nintendo Switch owners will have the chance to join the ranks of ace pilots on July 11th when Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown launches worldwide.
