Monday, Santa Gabe is going to court. Tuesday, skating titles continue to come to the Switch with the latest addition of Skater XL, at least for North America, and The Game Awards is set to make some changes. Wednesday, Ubisoft delayed the new Siege season only 7 minutes before launch, and Destiny 2‘s latest expansion arrived. Thursday, Massive Monster said it is adding sex to Cult of the Lamb. I guess we all need something to do on a Friday before leaving.

Moving on to the Epic Games Store for this week, and it is another double bill. This time it is a double dose of fighting games in the same week CM Punk rejoined WWE. Those are unrelated, kind of, but we’ll start with Mighty Fight Federation which I still hate the name of before I have to look at Toejam or Earl punching Yooka or Laylee. Don’t worry, they are the only names you’ll know, as the rest are totally original characters do not steal™. It is a moderately liked fighting game, but one that is mostly unknown until now. It is easy to see why.

The next game also has Yooka or Laylee (or both) and is Tanuki Creative Studio’s 2022 side-scrolling beat ’em up, Jitsu Squad. A little more popular than the prior option but it is another example of why you should never sleep with a green mascot from a platformer, you are bound to catch something. The thing that makes Jitsu Squad difficult to talk about is the fact it is described as “Marvel Vs Capcom-inspired,” but it isn’t a 2D fighter. It is quite clearly a side-scrolling beat ’em up, so I’m not following the similarity.

All this week, you can pick up Yooka-Laylee’s bits on the side in Jitsu Squad and Mighty Fight Federation on the Epic Games Store until the 7th of December. It is almost that most wonderful time of the year, when we get to pick something up every 24 hours, joy! Though let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, as next week it is another double bill, but with a fighter I have played… and a MOBA FPS. Next week you’ll be able to pick up Godzilla sim GigaBash and early access Destiny 2/Godfall-like (in art direction) Predeccessor. Well, at least I know I can say something about one of those.
