Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost Event Returns

Fans of Destiny 2 will have a lot to look forward to this Halloween. Starting today, Bungie announced the return of the Festival of the Lost event which will run until November 7th. This free in-game event has players don festive masks and explore Haunted Sectors completing various challenges to receive exclusive loot. Challenges will earn players tickets that can then be used to redeem rewards by upgrading the event card. Among this year’s gifts are the Acosmic Legendary Grenade Launcher, insect-themed ornament sets, and Eerie Engram drops.

Additionally, this year’s festival will introduce new Legend Haunted Sectors. These are geared towards players looking for a challenge and will contain additional rewards. Meanwhile, Eerie Engrams can be used to conjure specific event weapons and drop exotic armor from any of Destiny 2‘s previous expansions that are owned by the player.

Furthermore, for the first time in Destiny 2‘s lifespan, the community was able to choose the individual class armor sets for the festival. Hunters and Titans will receive a spider-themed set while Warlocks have a beetle-themed armor set. These seem particularly appropriate given that the current expansion (Season of The Witch) revolves around utilizing hive magic to combat a dark god.

For those looking for instant gratification, Bungie is offering a Festival of the Lost treat set on the online store. This pack includes a Headless Ones pin, a candy pin, and a tote bag included along with in-game rewards. The bundle will be available for purchase to those who complete the Bookworm event challenge before November 7th at 9:59 AM PT.

Destiny 2 is free-to-play and is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PS4/5. The latest expansion titled The Final Shape will be launching on February 27th, 2024, and is the epic conclusion to the long-running Light and Darkness saga.
