Showgunners is Now Available on PC

I love a good Turn-Based Strategy game as much as the next person. I grew up on games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem, and Shining Force. Because of this, I’m always looking for games like Showgunners, the just-released reality TV-themed Tactical RPG.

Showgunners is set in a dystopian world, as you play contestants on a blockbuster Reality TV game show. Here is what the press release has to say about the game and its release. “In a future society torn apart by extreme income inequality and climate change, one reality TV program gives desperate competitors a shot at fame and fortune. But first, they’ll have to survive hellish obstacle courses, ambushes, and challenges to the roaring delight of the fans.

As a contestant with your own score to settle, you’ll have to manage a squad of unique fighters, battle heavily armed rivals, and win fans and life-saving sponsorship packages if you hope to become the next champion. Be on guard for especially devious puzzles, traps, and surprise twists from the show’s scheming director, who’s always looking for ways to bend the rules to boost ratings.”

A free demo for Showgunners is available now on Steam. Additionally, you can purchase the deluxe edition for $42.97 with an additional launch discount available until May 9^th. According to the press release, the deluxe edition includes, “the full base game, the exclusive Neon Justice skin for Scarlett, a digital copy of the game’s complete original soundtrack, and a digital art book showcasing the game’s concept art, stylistic inspirations and more.”

The base game can be purchased for $29.99 on Steam or GOG, with a 10% discount until May 9^th. There is also Twitch Integration, so streamers can allow their audience to influence the game with random events and various other integration options. I’m really interested in checking out Showgunners, and if you like Tactical RPGs, it definitely seems worth looking into.
