The last two weeks of April saw a decent number of new titles being added to the Xbox Game Pass library, but we’ll be having a smaller wave at the beginning of May. Of the four games coming in, two are updated/new for a specific platform and two are day-one releases. Let’s go over everything that players can look forward to over the first half of May.

Starting it off on May 4th is the day-one release for Ravenlok on cloud, console, and PC. This action RPG follows a girl named Ravenlok who is thrown into a fantastical world ruled by an evil queen. Making it all the more whimsical is the unique 3D pixel art aesthetic.

Following it on May 8th is Weird West: Definitive Edition for Xbox Series X|S. Although it was released last year on previous generation consoles and PC, the latter of which I wrote a review for, this will mark the first time the supernatural western will come to current generation consoles. More information is expected to come next week but for now, the big update associated with it is being able to run at 4K resolution at 60fps.

The next day will see another familiar addition with the Shadowrun Trilogy coming out on PC. This collection of titles was previously added to the Xbox Game Pass library for consoles and cloud, but soon PC players will be able to enjoy the mash-up of magic meets cyberpunk too.

Rounding it out is another day-one release with Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 for cloud, console, and PC. Following a year after the events of the first game, players will once again have to fight difficult battles and make tougher decisions from their large tank.

That just leaves the games that won’t be offered in the library anymore. Players have until May 15th to check out Before We Leave, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Hearts of Iron IV, Her Story, and Umunrangi Generation: Special Edition.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
