If you needed any reason to return to the world of Hi-Fi Rush, developer Tango Gameworks has added a new way to enjoy the flashy visuals of the rhythmic world. A new update has gone live that adds something that everyone can appreciate: a photo mode. Publisher Bethesda Softworks laid out the details on their website and a more concrete explanation in a separate article.

The photo mode can be activated through most sequences of the game. Aside from cutscenes, dialogue sequences, and moments when Chai is not being controlled, players can pause and take some pictures. Fixed-camera areas such as the hideout are also exempt, but photos still can be taken (sans camera moment) during side-scrolling gameplay moments.

Using the mode to its full extent allows for different filters, settings, and poses to be utilized. As visually appealing as it already looks, the extensive tools and options in this photo mode seem like they will provide players with plenty of room to come up with some creative shots. One of the most fun inclusions is the option of adding any of Chai’s allies to join the photo as well. Naturally, they can also be set to strike different poses as well.

On top of this new mode, a variety of bug fixes have also been addressed. These include a couple of UE4 Fatal Errors as well as some annoying bugs that were preventing players from progressing any further. An overview of these fixes can be seen here.

In related news, publisher Bethesda Softworks also announced that two million players have checked out Hi-Fi Rush. This doesn’t directly translate into 2 million sales since Hi-Fi Rush was shadow-dropped onto the Xbox Game Pass service back in January, although it’s still an impressive metric nonetheless.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
