Returnal was first revealed during the 2020 PlayStation 5 reveal stream among many other games that were set to come to the console. The sci-fi roguelike has gone on to become a well-received part of the current-gen PlayStation library. A co-op mode was added about a year after its 2021 release and a recent trailer at the 2022 Game Awards revealed that a PC port was in the works with an early 2023 release window. Thanks to a new PlayStation Blog post, we know now that PC players will be able to enter their own time loops when it launches on February 15th.

Along with the release date, features (some exclusive) heading to the PC platform have also been revealed. Plenty of quality and performance options will be available to fine-tune your experience, such as NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR. Ultrawide 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9 resolutions are also being supported. Players can expect even more ray-tracing enhancements as ray-traced shadows will return along with the exclusive implementation of ray-traced reflections. For those concerned about whether they’ll be able to run the game, a comprehensive PC Specs table is also listed.

Anyone that played Returnal on PlayStation 5 will still be able to enjoy it with their preferred peripherals. 3D spatial audio with Dolby Atmos is supported with two options and ray-traced audio. It will also be possible to play with a DualSense controller for more immersive gameplay thanks to the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

Returnal will release on both Steam and the Epic Games Store next month. If the PlayStation Blog post isn’t as helpful as seeing the features in action, a new trailer that briefly presents the PC Features has gone up as well and can be seen below.

Samuel Moreno

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
