With the first season of Gundam Evolution set to come to a close within the next two weeks, the development team has decided to finally fill in the community on what to expect next. On Thursday they released a 12-minute mission briefing video highlighting everything coming in Season 2 – Mobius.

When it comes to new units it appears that only one will be added per season. Although it launched with a base roster that included four unlockable units, the Gundam Unicorn unit was technically a part of the first season of content. Many may have been hoping that we would see more but releasing one additional unit per season does track.

Fans of the 1988 Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack movie are likely to be excited about the Nu Gundam being added for the second season. With its New Hyper Bazooka and the iconic Fin Funnels, it’s looking to be a flashy unit with exciting tools. Adding it also creates a nice parallel with Char’s Sazabi that was part of the base roster. The movie will see more representation through new items and content such as stamps and animations as well.

A new map called Colony Trading Post is also being added. Inspired by more packed city areas, it features a lot of packed buildings with small streets between them. Two unique gimmicks have been designed to provide more dynamic experiences. The first is different shutters which periodically open and close, changing the layout of key areas and potentially revealing or concealing line of sight. The other gimmick is a conveyor belt that can be used to quickly close the distance between enemies or take cover behind moving containers.

Rounding out the upcoming features are earnable titles and a spectator mode in the PC version. The second season will release next Wednesday, November 30th, coinciding with the game’s launch on consoles. Check out the video below if you’d like to see the mission briefing video for yourself.
