Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster is Coming to PS5

At first, it seemed like just a rumor, but now multiple sources are claiming that Horizon Zero Dawn is in fact receiving a remaster and coming to PS5 in the future. This comes less than one year after the release of its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West and just 5 years since its original release on PS4. Hands down, the title was one of the most beautiful releases in terms of visuals and storytelling on the PlayStation 4. Now, fans will get to see it with a number of upgrades on the newer Sony console.

VGC leads the pack in reputable sources corroborating a rumor that Horizon Zero Dawn will be remastered for PS5. Among the rumored additions to this version of the game are accessibility features, graphics modes, and quality of life upgrades to make the game feel modern. That’s sort of a funny thing to say about a game that released in 2017, but believe it or not, there’s a lot they can likely do with the PS5 and its DualSense controller that wasn’t possible five years ago.

Originally released for the PlayStation 4, Horizon Zero Dawn takes place in a time where Machines roam the land and mankind is no longer the dominant species. Players control a young hunter named Aloy as she embarks on a journey to discover her destiny. Gorgeous post-apocalyptic environments guide players through the ruins of a forgotten civilization and humanity’s remaining communities: primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. It’s a great premise for a game and a total success in terms of what you’d want for an action-adventure title.

Horizon Zero Dawn will be another title to join Sony’s growing remaster library of PS3 and PS4 titles, including Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4, and The Last of Us. Let us know if you’ll be playing this game again on PS5 when we get the remaster!
