Hokko Life Gets PC and Console Release Date

A lot of folks have been talking about Hokko Life since it was announced. It has enjoyed a lengthy Early Access period, with plenty of updates and quality of life improvements since my preview shortly after it was released. Now that it is coming out of Early Access, we have a full release date alongside an announcement for releases on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

Hokko Life will come out of Early Access on September 27^th, 2022. It will release simultaneously on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. Since launching in June of 2021 in Early Access, there has been a multitude of updates. Here is what the press release has to say about the current state of the game.

“Throughout its time in Steam Early Access, Hokko Life has been regularly expanded with new content and gameplay mechanics including: The Farming Update, which added a new area to the game and gave players the opportunity to flex their green fingers; The Village Chic Update, which introduced over 250 new hats, masks, glasses, and other accessories.

There is also the Super Shopper Update, which allows players to visit a new city centre location; The Narrative Update, which overhauled the introduction of the game, and introduced four new friendly villagers to Hokko Life; and most recently the Mayor Merits Update, allowing players to complete activities in game in exchange for ‘mayor merits’ that unlock perks designed to make life in Hokko a little easier.”

I’ve been eager to see how Hokko Life has changed since it launched in Early Access, so perhaps now is a perfect time. People who have been looking for an alternative to Animal Crossing should probably check it out too since they’re very similar in vibe and concept. It is rare to see an Indie take on the Animal Crossing idea, so this is definitely one for people to check out.
