The Nintendo Switch is a system that has a catalog filled to the brim with every game imaginable! However, that can often make it impossible to find any good games amongst them. Plus, whenever you do find a good game, it is usually at full price, so you have to either eat the cost or sit on your hands until a rare sale comes around. Well now is the time, as Nintendo is having a massive Summer game sale. Let’s dive into my personal top ten picks on what you should get. Please note that none of these selections are in any particular order.

1: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga ($44.99-52.49)

If you haven’t already picked up LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, then I don’t know what you have been doing! This game spans the entire nine mainline movies that make up the Skywalker Saga and it is an absolute blast to explore. You can play everyone from Obi-Wan Kenobi to The Mandalorian to Sy Snootles! Don’t know who Sy Snootles is? Well, if you forget then why not buy this game and find out? While the discount for this game may not look like a lot, it is totally worth it! Don’t just take my word for it though. Go check out Alexx’s review to get the whole scoop!

2: Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania ($25.99-29.99)

One of the greatest remasters of a game series from my childhood, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is the perfect collection for anyone who grew up loving this game or those who are looking for a challenge! Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania follows the story of AiAi and his friends as they battle against Dr. Bad-boon in his attempt to force MeeMee to fall in love with him. The campaign and challenge modes from Super Monkey Ball 1, 2, and Deluxe are all here. There are also updated party game modes that you can enjoy with friends! While it still doesn’t have the ability to play with people online, it at least has Sonic and Tails!

3: The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening ($41.99)

The Nintendo Switch has some great offerings from the world of The Legend of Zelda, however, Link’s Awakening doesn’t get talked about a lot these days. As one of the more unique offerings, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening features a stranded Link who has to traverse a very strange island in order to find a way home. Featuring some difficult puzzles and unique enemies, you will have to criss-cross around the island as you pick up items that can help you to get through certain areas and trade with locals in order to unlock important gear. Time to grab your sword and go on a grand adventure!

4: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ($11.24)

One of the best Star Wars games to have ever been created, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is on sale at an absolute steal of a price! This game has everything that fans will want. This includes an amazing story, quirky and memorable characters, twists and turns throughout, combat that still stands the test of time, and all of the force powers that you could imagine for all aspiring Jedi and Sith. This game follows the story of a mysterious character who is thrust into the middle of the Jedi Civil War that was started by Darth Revan and Darth Malak. You must piece together your own story, while searching for a way to stop the Sith from taking over the galaxy and destroying the Old Republic!

5: Assassin’s Creed: The Rebel Collection ($14.79)

At first, these two games are an odd pairing for a collection. However, if you know the characters of Edward Kenway and Shay Patrick Cormac, then it all makes sense. The Rebel Collection features these two mens’ stories in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Rogue. Black Flag follows the story of a pirate named Edward Kenway who gets swept up in the war between Assassins and Templars. Rogue takes the perspective of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who turns to the Templars after being betrayed by his own. Playing these two is quite a joy, especially with the price being as low as it is!

6: Just Dance 2022 ($19.99)

Whether you need to find a way to get some cardio in, are looking for a good party game, or just want to dance your heart out to your favorite songs, Just Dance 2022 is what you need! Featuring brand new songs from “Levitating” by Dua Lipa to “Don’t Go Yet” by Camilla Cabello to “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake. All this and more will be available to you at a discount while the sale is going on. It is important to note that there is also Just Dance Unlimited, which allows you access to hundreds of songs from the previous games in the series. I will see you all on the dance floor!

7: Child of Light Ultimate Edition + Valiant Hearts: The Great War ($7.49)

Child of Light and Valiant Hearts: The Great War are two very different games, but manage to make a very compelling collection, especially at the price that it is at right now. Child of Light is an RPG that follows Aurora, a young princess who is on a quest to restore the Sun, Moon, and Stars from The Black Queen. Equally as dark, but closer to our reality, Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a Puzzle Action game that puts players in the feet of multiple different soldiers during the First World War. Will you be able to complete the ultimate world-saving quests in these two games?

8: Immortals Fenyx Rising ($14.99-24.99)

Immortals Fenyx Rising is one of the greatest games to have come out of Ubisoft in the last few years! Blending together perfectly elements of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this game has it all. From Greek Gods who are rather quirky to combat that is easy to learn, but hard to master to multiple challenge stages that will put your brain to the test. This game features a character named Fenyx, who is given the quest of returning the Gods to their natural forms in order to fight the ever-growing threat of Typhon. Will you be able to defeat Typhon and save the world?

9: Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game Complete Edition ($4.99)

One of the greatest tie-in games for one of the greatest movies of all time, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition is everything that you could want! Play as either Scott Pilgrim, Kim Pine, Stephen Stills, Ramona Flowers, Knives Chau, or Wallace Wells as you go across Toronto fighting the Seven Evil Exes of Ramona. Stylized as a classic arcade beat ’em up, this game has a steep learning curve and is quite the grind. However, things begin to even out as you collect and unlock items along the way! Will you be able to defeat Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, Roxy Richter, Kyle and Ken Katayanagi, and Gideon Graves?

10: Reigns: Kings & Queens ($3.99)

While not a game that is typically thought of when thinking about games on the Nintendo Switch, Reigns: Kings & Queens is an amazing game that is both simple and difficult. This game features a random card system where you are given events that will influence how your kingdom is run and how long you stay on the throne. Make too many wrong decisions and you could be invaded, executed, starved to death, poisoned, and many other potentially gruesome deaths. Some of the choices that you make in one life will affect the life of the next monarch, so be careful what you choose!

Well, that is all for my list! I hope that you have found some unbought gems within my top ten that you will find hours of enjoyment with. If you have any further suggestions for your fellow Nintendo Switch users, then please leave them in the comments below!
