Anyone that likes the Oddworld franchise has likely been wanting to play (or has played) Oddworld: Soulstorm. Now, the game is available on Steam, thanks to Oddworld Inhabitants’ latest announcement. Strangely, though they haven’t specifically said what is added, Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition joins Steam, and is also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store.

Here is what the press release has to say about the announcement. “Soulstorm is the story of hope, even in the face of insurmountable odds. Prized for their strength, the tasty meat on their bones, and how susceptible they are to Soulstorm Brew, Mudokons like our hero Abe, have been enslaved by a profiteering class.

The time for change has come, the time for a revolution is now. Picking up right after New ‘n’ Tasty’s epic adventure, you will be called up to help Abe on his journey to free more than 1,000 fellow Mudokons from the physical chains that bind them.

To confront an uncertain future and a forgotten past, you must use your gamer instincts and skills to help Abe. Armed with an array of tactics, from stealth to going full-on ballistic by utilizing scavenged trash to craft powerful and incendiary weapons, you need to decide how best to bring the fight to your oppressors and save all the Mudokons.

In-game decisions and the total number of lives freed in each level will impact Soulstorm’s outcome. Soulstorm features four unique endings, whether you unlock the final two chapters and best ending, or one of the lesser endings is up to you and Abe.  “

Fans of Oddworld games can now play the latest adventure on Steam, though I will admit that the nature of this “enhanced edition” is somewhat ambiguous as far as I can tell. Either way, Steam players are able to give it a look now, which means even more folks can enjoy Abe’s newest adventure.
