I’m totally a fan of the Drinkbox Studios style of game. They have great visual design, great mechanics, etc. If you’re not aware, their latest game, Nobody Saves the World is coming very soon to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Specifically, the developers of Guacamelee and its sequel Guacamelee 2, will be releasing Nobody Saves the World on April 14th. PlayStation users will be able to enjoy cross-generation co-op, and Switch users will be able to play with local co-op and presumably online co-op as well. Here is what the press release had to say:

Drinkbox Studios (Guacamelee!) are excited to finally announce that their latest game, Nobody Saves the World, will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on April 14th for $24.99 USD, with pre-orders open today that include a 10% discount. PlayStation players will get both the PS5 and PS4 versions. Along with its release on Switch and PlayStation, Nobody Saves the World will receive a much-requested local co-op update on all current platforms on the same day.

On Nintendo Switch, players will even be able to save the world with a friend on the same Switch with a single Joy-Con in Tabletop Mode. Nobody Saves the World will support cross-gen co-op multiplayer on PlayStation, with PS5 and PS4 players being able to play online co-op with each other.

Nobody Saves the World was released early in 2022 on January 18th on Xbox platforms and PC to critical acclaim, making it one of 2022’s first stand-out titles and Drinkbox’s most successful Steam launch to date.”

The game’s producer, Graham Smith, also had this to say about the upcoming release: “It’s been great to see the game being received so positively by our existing fans as well as new players. We’ve been around for 14 years now, and Nobody Saves the World has quickly become one of our most successful games.

Whenever we try making something completely new it feels like a big gamble, so we’re really happy that the game has found an audience, and hope that even more people will be able to enjoy it now that it’s arriving on PlayStation and Switch. Who knows, perhaps we’ll have more Nobody Saves the World ideas and forms to explore in the future!

I’m excited to get my hands on Nobody Saves the World, and this is a perfect time. I think it’ll be great to take on the go, on Switch. Alternately, playing on your TV with the PlayStation versions seems like a cool idea too.
