Due to the success of the Steam Next Fests, Valve has begun branching out a little bit. From March 28th to April 4th, Steam is holding a Steam Simfest. This is (as you can guess) an event centered around game demos to celebrate games based on a hobby or job. If you’re a fan of Sim games, perhaps you might want to try Espresso Tycoon’s demo, and explore a coffee empire.

Here is what the press release has to say about Espresso Tycoon: “Espresso Tycoon is a coffee shop simulator. Based on the mechanics of old-school tycoon games, with a lot of contemporary features, such as beautiful graphic designs or a highly developed 3D coffee editor.

The game aims to discover how to build a successful coffee business – that means creating the brand, decorating the coffee shop, managing employees, and taking care of the customers. The player has to check the budget, order supplies, collect rating points, and find the way to complete all the missions.

Espresso Tycoon focuses on realism, beautiful graphics, and deep gameplay. Gamers still want to play tycoon games. In our game, they will have that opportunity in a modern, extensive way and be able to create their own coffee business – from scratch to a whole empire.”

The dev team is also working on a more expansive demo to be released later known as Espresso Tycoon: Prologue. This prologue will add content to the demo such as multiple baristas, snack sales, coffee machine mechanics, more decorations for your shop, and much more. If you’re interested, check out Espresso Tycoon now, until the 4th of April. There are a lot of great simulators out there right now too, so give the Simfest a browse and see what you find.
