It’s no secret that Ghost Ship Games has a history of delaying updates for Deep Rock Galactic. Combined with the current pandemic, this issue has gotten worse for the devs and the past few major updates have had major delays. Modding support was the most recent update to the game and that was planned to be added in April.

In a not so unexpected post from the devs, update 35 got delayed from its Quarter Three release window to Quarter Four. This update was going to be big for the game as it was going to add new weapons for all four classes, which the game really needed. Tragically, this update was delayed at the start of September and nothing was said about it after. The modding update was pushed out soon after and then nothing about future updates was said.

That was until September 23rd when a post was made on Deep Rock Galactic’s social media and on the steam page. It was a simple post, just a date and an image. The image is nothing new, it is the same background image that has been linked to update 35 since Ghost Ship Games started talking about it. The date, however, is November 4th, 2021, it could be assumed that this is when Ghost Ship is planning to release the update for Depp Rock Galactic.

While the full release of the update is what the date seems to be hinting at, we could be wrong. The constant delays for previous updates leave me skeptical that we will actually get the full update on that date. I could be totally wrong and we may get the full update, but until that day comes, I am going to keep my expectations in check and have the bar low enough so that Ghost Ship can hopefully clear it. If nothing else, I hope that when the date rolls around we get the update on the beta branch of the game to play around with.
