Since March, I’ve been quite enthusiastic about a handful of games, and one or two of them are games I have played. I’m mostly speaking about the first ID@Xbox showcase, where we got a brief glimpse at the upcoming indie titles coming to the Microsoft consoles and PC. One such game is the wonderful and heartwarming Moonglow Bay, that voxel-fishing simulation thing with the co-founders snuggled up talking about the very comforting games.

Well, last week was the European E3, or as it is normally called, Gamescom, and it gave us the release date for Bunnyhug’s latest game, Moonglow Bay. Strangely, the release date didn’t come through the only Opening Night Live presentation, for some reason. Instead, Geoff Keighley just wanted to yell, “I have friends, I definitely have friends;” If he was Rachel Bloom, maybe I’d like him more. Anyway, Bunnyhug and Coatsink announced Moonglow Bay will release on October 7th, four days after my new favorite day. Ok, enough joking!

Moonglow Bay is described as a “story-driven ‘slice-of-life fishing RPG” about a seaside town that has been afraid to fish. Set on the eastern coastline of Canada, you’ll be fishing in the Atlantic, though something tells me you won’t be interacting with the cast of Wicked Tuna. You set out on the adventure to save the crumbling town on the verge of bankruptcy, catching all sorts of mysterious fish, either through fishing on a boat, ice fishing, or doing a Deadliest Catch and swearing when Cthulhu eats your crabbing pots. You think I am joking, but the trailers I’ve seen give a hint of darker monsters hiding deep below.

Of course, Moonglow Bay will be releasing on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and for Steam on PC on the 7th of October. The listed price in the press release notes that it will be releasing for £19.99/$24.99 on all platforms, with the Epic Games Store release coming on the 11th of November. Moonglow Bay will also release into Xbox Game Pass upon its release on consoles and PC.
