Well, this one felt a bit obvious after all that has gone on with excitement for Dying Light 2: Stay Human. They might as well port it. Truth is, I don’t believe I properly played Dying Light back when it was released, it just seemed to be the crafting and survival thing I was already bored by. Now, years on, I’ve been playing a bit of it on the PS4 and while I was right, there is something about it that is enjoyable. Well, if the Polish site ppe.pl (thank you also to Eurogamer) is to be believed, others will be able to play the zombie survival on the go too.

Now, from what I am roughly understanding from the site’s translation is, a reader by the name Graczdari contacted ppe.pl, a regular source for the site. They know about the Switch port because they work in retail. The source provided the site with the information that is expected to be revealed soon; the Dying Light: Platinum Edition should be set for an October release with all DLC and skin packs. However, with the Switch port comes a few more specific features: Motion controls, touchscreen support, gyro aiming, and some local co-op.

Of course, the pricing is similar to that of Xbox and PlayStation versions of the Platinum Edition, at $49.99 (£47.99). The only trouble is what you would prefer from the game graphically, as one might assume it will be similar to the Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Of course, this is just speculation, though one could be forgiven for assuming there may be some compromises for the hardware. However, we’ve yet to see anything from this reported version that is said to be released in October. If it does, I’m sure some will be happy. I know I will be, I can poo myself as throngs of zombies attack me while I am already on the bog at that point.

Jokes aside, it would be a good concession for players of the Nintendo Switch. Of course, Techland’s big release this year is Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which is set for a December 7th release at the moment. However, while that is coming to PC, a majority of the previous generation (PS4 and Xbox One), and current generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), it is not coming to the Switch. With a reported “100-hours” of the game on offer in the Platinum Edition, I’m sure it will tide a few people over for a while.
