Without YouTube, we wouldn’t have games like Minecraft or Surgeon Simulator, which sounds like a horrible world I don’t like. You might not have known it, but the sequel to Surgeon Simulator 2 was released last year and landed with the thud of a hacked-off limb. I don’t know why, either it is that derision towards the Epic Games Store that stupid people have, or every YouTuber was yelling at their camera while playing Amnesia.

A year on, the Epic Games Store exclusivity has ended, and thus, people can move on to moan about something else being exclusive for a bit, like it even matters. With the exclusivity up, the game is heading to Steam and the Xbox family of consoles (One and Series X/S) on September the 2nd. The year on the Epic Games Store effectively acted as early access, as all the updates and previously locked-off sections of the game will be available to boot this time. That includes the four-player campaign, competitive multiplayer, and new features too.

Executive Producer, Sylvain Cornillon, said, “We’re really delighted to bring Access All Areas to a whole new audience of budding surgeons.” He went on to say, “The team has taken everything we’ve learned from launch to create the most hilarious, ridiculous surgery simulator we can imagine. We have a lot of surprises in store, stay tuned for more.

Of course, for those currently looking to play on the Xbox One before picking up the Xbox Series X/S, Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas will support Xbox Smart Delivery. With the current generation consoles allowing for 4K and 60FPS. Meanwhile, Steam players of the Access All Areas version will get an exclusive I am Fish-inspired bowl head cosmetic, if that’s something of worth to you.
