Where has the time gone? It is May already, and E3 this year is quickly approaching at a rate that my sleep schedule does not like the look of. Nonetheless, June the 12th through the 15th is set to be quite a busy time for all of us, both in and outside of covering the event. The company behind the conference has announced several partners to be showcased at the event. Big names in gaming have joined in of course, such as Japanese mainstays Square Enix, Sega, and Bandai Namco.

The former still has to show us when the next Final Fantasy will release, a few details on the Final Fantasy 7 related games, Life is Strange: True Colors later this year, and several other projects. This might possibly include something about Tomb Raider? Sega will have the newly announced Judgment to show off, Humankind which releases this August, and the newly announced Total War: Warhammer III. Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus is set to release later that month, Elden Ring may make an appearance, JRPG fans will be waiting on news for Tales of Arise, and info on the PS5 and Xbox Series X release of Little Nightmares II. This is all speculation of what we might see, of course.

Alongside them comes XSEED Games/Marvelous, Gearbox, Freedom Games, and Devious Eye. Along with these developers and publishers comes odd partners for an all-digital event: Turtle Beach, Verizon, and something else purporting to be “the future of gaming entertainment” Binge. The last time I was told something was going to be the future of gaming, it was Google Stadia, and that’s all but dead. This time, Binge claims to be “an immersive streaming platform,” to which I say, go away!

Anger at another platform calling itself the hottest new thing before we even know what it really is aside, we’re closer to the days that make me happy. Last week, Konami announced that it will not be taking part in the event due to timing, and they have several pachinko machines to make. Being serious for a moment, they did reveal they are “in deep development on a number of key projects.”
