While Mathew “Broken Matt” Hardy is out of wrestling with his brother Jeff, it seems the broken gimmick has been given to 2K. Ok, wrestling in-jokes aside, many have taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to voice their displeasure with 2K’s most recent sports game. The WWE 2K game series is one 2K have been producing since the break up of THQ; though, this year was the first time their own development team worked on the franchise alone.

Since before Moses was a young lad, the development of the big wrestling games has mostly been done by Japanese developers. In particular, for WWE games it was Yuke’s, who had left the partnership with 2K earlier this year. It seemed that there was bad blood at the time, as senior VP and producer, Hiromi Furuta made comments on the departure. However, the former developer hasn’t commented on what their next release will be; with Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain on PC being their most recent release.

This year’s WWE 2K game, however, was fully developed by Visual Concepts who also develop the yearly 2K release of NBA 2K. Now it seems many fans are pining for the days of the Yuke’s games that were only slightly buggy, but generally were good wrestling games underneath. As of this Tuesday when WWE 2K20 released, many fans and players have seen plenty of bugs of the game-breaking and hilariously stupid kind.

With that, many fans have taken to Twitter with the hashtag (WARNING: link may contain swearing) “FixWWE2K20.” Either their tweets feature several expletives displaying their displeasure with the quality, an image (as seen above) of masked wrestlers with broken masks, or videos (as seen below) of something that is illegal in several states and sixty-nine countries. To which, I don’t believe it is easy to create a wrestling game without bugs; nonetheless, this many?

It seems 2K will have to ride down the river in a dilapidated boat until this one is fixed.
