In an already impressive year for Games with Gold, April’s entries may be the best yet.

The Technomancer ($39.99 ERP): Available April 1st to 30th on Xbox One

The Technomancer is an RPG style action game that feels like Mass Effect lite. The game is set during the War of Water, 200 years after humans colonized Mars. The protagonist is a rookie technomancer named Zachariah from Abundance, one of the powerful corporations on the red planet, who is on the run from the secret police. There are three styles of combat and players can craft their own weapons and armor. With a skill tree and different endings based on how you play, there’s plenty here to keep you occupied.

Star Wars Battlefront II ($9.99 ERP): Available April 1st to 15th on Xbox One and Xbox 360

The game that spawned EA’s Battlefront franchise was a strong mirror of the original two titles from LucasArts for the OG Xbox. If you have not played the original Battlefront II, it’s a look back into the 2000s style shooters and all the fun of Star Wars. Spanning both the Clone Wars era as well as the devilish Death Star, this is a game near and dear to my heart that I plan on playing over and over again.

Outcast – Second Contact ($39.99 ERP): Available April 16th to May 15th on Xbox One

Outcast – Second Contact is the complete remake of the cult title which sparked the open world, action-adventure genre. Take off on an exploration of Adelpha, an alien world as beautiful as it is dangerous, where your heroic journey places the fate of two worlds in your hands. The game features an open world aspect and allows you to choose which quests you want to accomplish and their order. It’s a fun play, and well worth a try given that it’s free.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 ($19.99 ERP): Available April 16th to 30th on Xbox One and Xbox 360

The Advanced Warfighter series was an answer to the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare titles. As with most Tom Clancy titles, managing the entire squad is important and gives you power that is a lot of fun to master. The actual gunplay is solid, and the story is interesting enough. Having played this back when it first came out, I’m excited to give it a go again.

Games with Gold is available for Gold subscribers on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
