Admittedly, It Takes Two wasn’t my sort of game. The story didn’t really resonate with me, though I did enjoy the gameplay quite a bit. Split Fiction, the next game in Hazelight Studios’ brand of Co-op experiences, seems to be more my style though. With Split Fiction releasing on March 6th, the developers at Hazelight released a new trailer, showcasing more about Split Fiction.
In the trailer, Josef Farez shows off more about Split Fiction’s gameplay, including a new unseen set of challenges known as Side Stories. These are optional one-off adventures that are hidden in the main story levels. Excitingly enough, these change the gameplay even more, adding unique elements that aren’t showcased on their own in the main levels.
The trailer also showcases more about Split Fiction’s co-op gameplay and levels. I don’t want to spoil anything though, so I’ll let you check out the trailer yourself. If you haven’t heard anything about Split Fiction yet, here is what the press release has to say:
“In Split Fiction, players work together as Mio, a realist Sci-Fi writer, and Zoe, an optimistic fantasy novelist, embark on a split-screen adventure through their own stories. As they leap across thrilling and radically contrasting worlds in their attempt to escape, players will coordinate with each other and build new skills and tools all while uncovering the power of unexpected friendship.
Split Fiction will launch [on] March 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S[,] and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store[,] and the EA app for $49.99. Players can also invite a friend to play with them for free on any platform (Crossplay on PS, Xbox & PC) with the Friend’s Pass.“
While I’m not exactly a multiplayer sort of player, Split Fiction has my interest. The idea of mixing Sci-Fi and Fantasy together, alternating levels, and experiencing an array of puzzles and challenges, is interesting to me. We don’t have long to wait for the release either, so keep an eye on what’s ahead with Split Fiction. Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments too.
