Monday, a new gameplay mode coming to Darkest Dungeon II was announced for later this year. Tuesday, side-scrolling neo-Japanese inspired Atomic Owl is now available to back on Kickstarter. Wednesday, Kill It With Fire 2 is in early accessThe Witcher 3‘s official modding tool is now being playtested, and Skybound is crowdfunding an Invincible game. Thursday, Hades II has a technical test right now, and Steamworld Heist II is out later this year.

Moving on to what is free on the Epic Games Store this week, we’ve got a 90s-inspired action-adventure and a sequel to a thing that is very much the Among Us style of gameplay. We’ll start with The Big Con from Mighty Yell and Skybound Games, aptly titled as you play a teen con artist who’ll pickpocket and other such minor crimes in this very colorful world. If I had a few hours to spare and didn’t have countless other games to play, I’d probably be all over this one.

Currently free on Steam (at the time of writing) as well as Epic, Town of Salem 2 is a sequel to 2014’s Town of Salem. See gaming industry, that’s how you title sequels, not “Rebirth,” “Requiem,” “Rehash of the same tripe,” and so on. Usually $9.99 on Steam at least, Town of Salem 2 is heavily inspired by the Russian social-deduction party game Mafia (also known as Werewolf), which itself is the basis for Among Us. A lot cleaner in art style than its predecessor, I think it is clear that Town of Salem 2 might just be based on the idea of witches and witch hunts.

All this week, you can pick up Town of Salem 2 and The Big Con on the Epic Games Store until the morning of Thursday, April 25th. Moving on to next week, it is a double bill of 2021’s Lies of P-like (in terms of biomechanical nonsense) FPS set during the Cold War, Industria, and the second is cult RPG Maker-based Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful in Lisa: Definitive Edition. Quick hold me back while I don’t care for either at this point.
