Yesterday in celebration of Pokémon Day, The Pokémon Company released a special presentation regarding upcoming releases for the franchise within the next few years. The first announcement is in regards to Scarlet and Violet, which will hold some special Tera Raid battle events against the original starter trio Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard. These battles will be taking place throughout March with the first event already begun.

Next, Pokémon Go players can expect a special collaboration event that will coincide with the Pokémon Horizons anime series, releasing March 7th on Netflix. Players will be able to encounter the protagonists Liko and Roy, and catch their partners Sprigatito and Fuecoco along with Captain Pikachu, who knows the move “Volt Tackle.” Other Scarlet and Violet Pokémon such as Charcadet and its corresponding evolutions will also be available.

A brief update for Pokémon Sleep will add the legendary beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to the game this March. Meanwhile, Pokémon Masters EX celebrates its fourth anniversary with new trainers coming soon. Players can recruit Geeta and Glimmora from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet starting today, the 28th, while Silver and his Tyrannitar will be coming on March 1st.

Pokémon Café Remix will add additional costumes for the newest batch of starter Pokémon while completing special puzzles, while bingo events will allow you to hire the legendary duo Koraidon and Miraidon to your café crew. Maraidon is also being added to the roster of playable characters for Pokemon Unite along with Falinks starting in April and Ceruledge soon after. Miraidon will be unlockable through an in-game event that is live right now.

Fans of the Pokémon TCG will have a lot to look forward to with the announcement of a brand new mobile app that allows for collecting, trading, and PVP battling. This looks to be a more refined version of the Pokémon TCG Online game, but with a heavier focus on virtual collecting as pack openings were a main focus of the trailer. The game will also feature immersive cards that showcase short animations within the setting of certain card art. Pokémon Trading Card Game: Pocket is set to release in 2024.

Finally, by far the most exciting announcement came in the teaser for a new Pokémon: Legends game. Pokémon: Legends ZA will take place in the Kalos region from Pokémon X and Y. Though few details are known so far, the teaser confirmed the return of the fan-favorite Mega Evolution mechanic and will be released sometime in 2025. Legends: Arceus was one of the best Pokémon experiences I’ve had in a long time, so I’m glad that the series will be continuing.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
