With more than 70 hours in, I think I’ve got a problem of playing too much Ready or Not. Between modded maps that don’t crash the game and replaying a couple of favorites, I’ve gotten a lot out of the 1.0 release and its few hotfix updates. That said, I have wondered what the road ahead was, and on Friday we got an update on that with a 2024 roadmap that details the coming months and what to expect with these updates and their timelines.

In the immediate future, there are many bug fixes to be done ahead of spring when we get something of a major update on the horizon. There is no word exactly when hotfix #4 will arrive, but that’s what is next as publicly stated. We have no idea if there will be further 1.0 hotfixes, but chances are that there may be another one or two on the horizon if need be over the next month.

The first post-launch major updates start in the spring, with 1.1 arriving alongside the first DLC “Home Invasion.” To say there are many more details on the DLC would be a lie, though we do know that those who previously picked up the “Supporter Edition” DLC will get this one for free. Given the name you can take guesses at what this DLC might involve, but for now, that’s all we’ve got.

In the Summer, we’re going to see DLC 2’s release if everything stays on schedule, but there are very few details on this one. Again there will be bug fixes adjoining the release of this second DLC, but the 1.2 update won’t be released until the Fall/Autumn of 2024. There will be additions, bug fixes, and improvements set to fine-tune the experience. Both DLCs are set to bring new maps to Ready or Not, but for those who want to see the reaction to said DLCs first, there will be free weapons for everyone with the base game.

If there is one thing missing from this roadmap discussion it is exactly what to expect with the 1.1 or 1.2 updates. The line in the statement reads, “[…] the core purpose of updates 1.1 and 1.2 is to deliver further additions, improvements, and [bug fixes] to the game.” Great, does this include AI to fill out multiplayer lobbies with a small number of friends? Does it include anything notable? If so, why not mention it? It is already noted that details are “subject to change,” so at least give a little detail.

Despite the many angry comments you’ll find online, I’m reasonably happy with Ready or Not. There does need to be some fixes and additional features, yes, but what is there already is a solid foundation, as I said in the review. I’m excited to see what is set to come from the DLC in the coming months, and given we’re around a month away from Spring starting, I don’t think we’ll be waiting too long to see what the “Home Invasion” DLC has to offer.
