Jagged Alliance 3 Receives New Content Update

For all the strategy game fans like myself, I’d be remiss If I didn’t cover the newest update for a revival to one of my favorite subgenres. Jagged Alliance 3 is a return to the classic PC strategy titles of the early 2000s. You will recruit a team of memorable heroes and carry out missions in tactical turn-based combat all while experiencing a rich narrative. The original Jagged Alliance series debuted in 1994 and received a sequel in 2004. Now more than ten years later, the series has returned and after releasing in July of 2023, publisher THQ Nordic announced this week that the title will be receiving a major content update on December 18th just in time for the holiday season.

Along with this new update 1.4 is a complimentary DLC which features a new quest line. This quest is titled “U-Bahn” and will have players diving into the underground of the fictional setting Grand Chien, discovering hidden secrets that date back to World War II. The quest line also features seven new maps set within a hidden underground laboratory and numerous challenging enemy encounters.

Meanwhile, update 1.4 adds new underground transportation along with a variety of balance adjustments and UI improvements. These include things such as a revamped conflict selection screen, sector stash overhaul, and the ability to multi-select items in the inventory. Furthermore, some of the missions have been changed slightly to ensure a smoother experience.

Jagged Alliance 3 is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4/5 for $44.99 USD. The game features cross-gen multiplayer and also offers a free demo on Steam. This will allow you to explore Ernie Island, the starting region of Jagged Alliance 3, and get a grasp of the gameplay.
