Monday, Jeffrey made me wonder why he bothers with Prime GamingStreet Fighter 6 will get a new DLC this month, and Gunbrella has a release date. Tuesday, Vampire Survivors-like Spell Disk has been announced for early access. Wednesday, A Dragon Quest spin-off that isn’t Builders has pre-orders available, Codemasters’ crack at the WRC was announced for November, and Dune: Spice Wars got its full release announced while some taste salt over not sticking to a very boring book for an adaptation. Meanwhile, on Thursday, another studio announced they want to take on the task of making modern Final Fantasy Tactics while making it fresh for unpleasable fans.

Moving on to what is available this week on the Epic Games Store we have a turn-based tactics title from last year with a whole lot of fantasy and sci-fi piled on top of what the developer calls puzzle-like positioning tactics. Spelldrifter (stylized as SpellDrifter) is something that has undoubtedly passed you by given that Free Range Games’ title has only gotten about 11 reviews on Steam since its release last February. I don’t have any excitement to share on Spelldrifter because despite playing the likes of Sea of Stars recently, I’m not someone entirely for turn-based tactics unless the concept interests me. Here it doesn’t.

All this week you can pick up Spelldrifter on the Epic Games Store until the morning of the 14th of September. Next on the weekly installment of “Sweet Jesus, I need to find something nice to say about that,” we have Jutsu Games and Games Operators’ 2017 title, 911 Operator. This is actually something I’ve been interested in for a while now, though I think 911 Operator will need to do a lot towards accessibility for me to really enjoy it. We’ll find out next week. Not that it matters, as we’ll all still be trying to get through Starfield or the countless other games getting ignored as a result of it.
