While the previous Xbox Game Pass wave had a modest seven titles for players to look forward to, this wave has five games being added. Don’t take the smaller number for a lesser experience though. This upcoming selection has plenty of variety to be of interest to everyone. Let’s go over what’s coming out over the next two weeks.

Starting it off on August 3rd is A Short Hike for cloud, console, and PC. This comfy title has you exploring the mountainside of Hawk Peak Provincial Park as Claire, a cute little bird who’s trekking her way up the mountain. You’ll be able to climb and soar all around, discovering new treasures and meeting other hikers during your journey.

For a much different vibe, you can check out Broforce Forever when it comes to cloud, console, and PC on August 8th. This new update adds an expanded campaign along with six new bros for this heavy-action side-scrolling game. This isn’t a day-one release per se since this is just the final content update for the original title, but it is being added the same day the update goes live so some players will be able to play it entirely as a new experience.

Coming out the following day on August 9th will be Limbo for cloud, console, and PC. The first critically-acclaimed game from developer Playdead, and one of the original indie darlings in the industry, this platformer takes you on a memorable adventure with fun puzzles and a one-of-a-kind visual style.

August 10th will meanwhile see Airborne Kingdom on cloud, console, and PC. This city-builder switches things up by having you grow your town up in the sky as you explore the world. You can challenge yourself in Hard Mode or take it easy in the limitation-free Creative Mode. If you’re interested in learning more, we’ve got an Airborne Kingdom review up for the Nintendo Switch version.

The final game being added on August 15th is Everspace 2 for cloud and Xbox Series X|S. Intense spaceship fights await you in this unique single-player title, complete with RPG mechanics and crafting. Although it was released back in April and came to PC Game Pass as well, this marks its addition to cloud and console. For a deeper look, check out our review.

That just leaves the games that are leaving, which include some big ones. Players have until August 15th to check out or finish the following: Death Stranding, Edge of Eternity, Midnight Fight Express, and Total War: Warhammer III.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
