It’s always frustrating when we get to this time of year, and the news is sparse. Most game development companies have already given their largest announcements for the first half of the year, so the news is fairly quiet. Techland had some interesting news for Dying Light 2 fans though, in the form of an announcement for an upcoming collaboration.

In a tweet posted on Friday, Techland revealed that there will be an event for Dying Light 2 that will see the zombie-survival title crossing over with another zombie heavyweight. As you can guess by the title of this article, Dying Light 2 will be crossing over with The Walking Dead. The interesting thing is that it doesn’t seem to be a crossover with the television series (or its spinoffs).

Instead, the crossover event seems to be connecting Dying Light 2 with the comic series created by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. For reference, all things related to The Walking Dead that exist today were spawned from those comics, though the television series (and subsequent spinoffs) eventually drifted away from the source material into their own storylines.

While support (and content) for Dying Light 2 is still ongoing, Techland is also hard at work on an Open-World, Fantasy Action-RPG that has yet to be officially revealed. The Dying Light 2 team has been steadily adding content to the game, with regular updates and things like the upcoming Walking Dead crossover.

Sadly, there isn’t much else to go on. Neither the development team nor the Walking Dead team at Skybound Games has given details on what the crossover will entail. However, the announcement tweet did say to “stay tuned for more info” so Walking Dead fans should take note of that. Either way, it seems like Dying Light 2 will still be getting content for a while yet.
