It’s that E3/E3-like time of year again when we are bombarded with announcements for new games and updates for highly anticipated titles. Plenty of publishers and developers will be hosting their own events outside of the likes of Xbox and Sony showcases though, including Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. While they didn’t provide any hints as to what would be shown, the team behind the Like a Dragon series recently announced that their upcoming RGG Summit Summer 2023 Livestream would be held on June 15th.

We last had an RGG Summit event back in September 2022. That livestream was an exciting one for fans as it revealed the Judgment series would finally be heading to Steam and showed off a new trailer for Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which you can read a review of here. Even bigger reveals included announcements for Like a Dragon 8 and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Following in the footsteps of such a huge event, fans are excited about what could be shown. News about the two titles they announced last year is expected, especially Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name since it’s supposed to come out later this year. Many are hoping for a gameplay reveal and a proper release date. Something new shown for Like a Dragon 8 is also likely, although any story content might be limited since Kiryu’s involvement is probably going to be set up in the other title.

The sky is the limit when it comes to anything else. After the success of Like a Dragon Ishin! earlier this year, many fans are hoping that a remake of the original spin-off Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! could be in the cards. Similarly, a potential Yakuza Kiwami 3 has been long desired. There’s nothing saying that it would only be announcements related to the series or if there will be anything else at all to be fair. For all we know, and some of us hope, they might announce a new Super Monkey Ball. We’ll be watching either way.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
