Street Fighter 6 is fast approaching and Capcom is keen on showing off what it has to offer. Two weeks ago, we saw a load of information come out during a showcase which included a breakdown of the World Tour mode and the four DLC characters expected to join for the first year. Although many had been waiting to hear more about World Tour, most just want to get their hands on the expected 1v1 fighting action.

That wish can be considered soon granted as an open beta will be held from May 19th to May 21st. It will be held on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. With crossplay supported, this also means that every player on either of those platforms will be able to fight against each other. Similar to the previous closed betas, the first of which you can read my impressions of here, PlayStation 4 is the sole platform that the beta isn’t available on.

Speaking of the previous betas, anyone who participated in the second closed beta will find this one to feel very familiar as the content is the same. Anyone who didn’t get in before can look forward to ranked matches, casual matches, and nearly everything that the battle hub has to offer. The following eight characters are also available: Luke, Jamie, Chun-Li, Juri, Kimberly, Guile, Ryu, and Ken.

All of the finer details can be found here on the official Street Fighter website. New players should make sure to create a CAPCOM ID if they haven’t already and link it to the platform they’re planning to play on. This weekend-long open beta will be taking place just two weeks before the full game launches, so this is a great opportunity for people to check it out before they buy it.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
