Mattia Binotto is out at Ferrari after last year’s Italian terrorism against Spain. Max is whining like a child as usual unless he’s winning to make sure his dad shows a hint of emotion, and Hamilton joins Russell in dragging a boulder around his neck. F1 has been interesting, to say the least. Not because of the on-track action but the usual nonsensical drama surrounding it and everything connected to it. Last weekend F1 Academy had its first three races which was a disaster, and this week EA unveiled this year’s release, surprisingly coming next month.

Still made by Codemasters, the latest addition to the world of virtual racing is set to add a few features, a couple of questionable races, and even the return of a feature. For the first time since (I believe) 2014, we’re getting red flags reintroduced for when you do a Stroll or Mazespin. Alongside that, you’ll also have the option for 35% race distance, or roughly the length of a sprint race. Not only that but alongside the third US race coming in the form of gaudy Las Vegas, it will be the first time since Alex Rossi you’ll get to play as an American.

Alongside the driver shakeups of 2023 in the form of the young Floridian in Logan Sargeant and his third home race, Qatar joins the calendar and Devon Butler returns. “Braking Point” the odd Drive to Survive-like story mode from F1 2021, makes a miraculous return to the grid for season 2. Alongside Devon is Aidan Jackson (reportedly signing with a big team) and Devon’s sister Callie Mayer. Set to race us all to the line with a release date of Friday, June 16th.

Two-time world champion and EA ambassador Max Verstappen will be cladding the exclusive digital Champions Edition of F1 23, offering players early access on Tuesday, June 13th, and 18,000 PitCoin. For the standard edition of F1 23, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Noris, and Charles Leclerc (the only Charles anyone wants to hear about this weekend) anoint the cover. It will be available for PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and PC via the EA App, the Epic Games Store, and Steam. It is almost time again to say, “Three lights, four lights, five laps– pause… Go! Go! Go!”
