I don’t know what has gotten into me. I’ve found myself looking more into horror titles lately and enjoying them. There is a new game from the Amnesia people set during World War 1 coming in May and I really enjoyed the Lovecraftian horrors that you run away from in DREDGE. As I said when it was recently noted Killer Frequency was set to release this summer, I’m excited about that too. A radio-focused horror where you play host to a horror-talk show? Count me in!

This June you’ll be able to play as washed-up radio DJ and presenter of ‘The Scream,’ Forrest Nash, in the 80s as he tries to help residents of this small midwestern town escape a mysterious stalker and masked murderer. Sounds like a very late Stephen King short story, if I’m honest. Though one of the decent ones, not Cell or other drab titles. It is set to release consecutively across PC, Meta Quest 2 (still a stupid name, Mark!), PS4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch on the 1st of June.

As the night unfolds for Forrest Nash, you’ll be tasked with answering the phones, playing 80s-inspired music, figuring out how to help callers escape death, and unmasking the killer before dawn. As not only a fan of Frasier but also being fascinated by radio production in general (I am a nerd, thanks for noticing), Killer Frequency interests me before we’re running around the station between call-ins and links between songs. The ticking clock, the mystery, and the overall idea are the Chorizo on the pizza for me. I can’t wait to hit the airwaves in Killer Frequency, undoubtedly killing many Midwesterners in the process.
