The Arc World Tour 2022 Finals were held this weekend and as first announced at last year’s tour, this tournament featured Arc System Works’ latest titles: Guilty Gear Strive and DNF Duel. While the tournament matches were great fun, there were also some fun announcements made regarding future content for both games. Here’s what we learned about what’s up and coming to Guilty Gear Strive.

First off was a reveal for the third DLC character coming with the second season. Fans of Guilty Gear Xrd will recognize the new character “Bedman?” as a sort of returning character. While the eponymous character himself isn’t appearing again, his mechanical bed is along with his younger sister Delilah. While she was initially teased in the Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- story, she made her first full appearance as an important character in the “Another Story” DLC released last year.

In addition to Bedman? is a new stage called Fairy’s Forest Factory. Although both the third DLC character and the new stage were initially expected to release this month, Arc System Works’ Twitter announced that they were both delayed until early April. Thanks to the latest announcements, we know now that they’ll both release on April 6th.

Accompanying the announcement of this DLC was a hint for the next and final character for season 2. We only saw a gloved hand and a book but anyone that’s played the story mode for Guilty Gear Strive should recognize it as a tease for Asuka R. Kreuz, a.k.a. “That Man”. This is the character who had long been considered the primary antagonist of the entire series. With “Bedman?” having been delayed until April, the upcoming wait between new characters will feel especially short as the fourth DLC character is set to release in May.

Lastly, a third season of DLC has been announced. Although the second season could be ending on a high note with the first playable appearance of such a major character, there are still plenty of old favorites or even new characters that could be added with a new wave of DLC. We don’t know when the next season will be coming out, but it’s possible we could hear more news this August during EVO 2023.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
