Dorfromantik Releases 1.0 Version on Steam

I have made it no secret that I absolutely adore Dorfromantik. I checked it out partway through its Early Access cycle, and it is consistently on my rotation of relaxing games to play. Sometimes I even keep it open when I’m doing other stuff, for short breaks and ways to just let my mind shut off for a while. Now, Toukana Interactive has finally released it out of Early Access. Here is what the press release has to say about the launch.

“When the team at Toukana Interactive first released Dorfromantik into Early Access on Steam in early 2021, they were overwhelmed by the interest and love their game received from players all over the world. Just one year later, Dorfromantik has reached over 12’000 Steam reviews with a 97% positive rating, got nominated for the Steam ‘Sit Back And Relax’ award, and was named ‘Best Game’ at the 2021 German Developer Awards.

Dorfromantik’s various updates have had a big influence on the game’s success and active community. During the Early Access period, the team implemented the ‘Creative Mode’, added new tools, tiles, and biomes, over 40 Steam achievements, and the player base’s most requested feature: The all-important Undo Button.

After celebrating its first birthday just a few weeks ago, Dorfromantik delights its fans with another big update for its 1.0 release today. Amongst major improvements to the game’s tutorial, balancing, menus, and feedback systems, the update also features four new modes including the challenging ‘Hard Mode’, the ‘Quick Mode’ for shorter play sessions, as well as the ‘Monthly mode’ which offers players new challenges every month, to further prolong the longevity of the game.

The developers are especially proud of the newly added ‘Custom Mode’, which adds a lot more variation to the game by giving players the ability to tweak settings like difficulty and session length and allows them to share these customizations with friends for even more challenge and fun.

The new update provides plenty of fresh content for new and experienced players alike to keep building and puzzling for a long time to come, all the while the team at Toukana is planning their next moves to further expand the tiny universe of Dorfromantik.”

Personally, I hope we get more content for Dorfromantik. I love what Toukana Interactive did with the game, and I think it is a perfect, cozy, relaxing game to just wind down with. I can’t overstate enough how much I recommend it. Toukana Interactive’s first game is special, and I hope it means they’ll have more great games in the future.
