I think we’re all familiar with cooking games by now. However, have you ever wanted to expand your culinary menu, adding your customers to the table? Sounds like something out of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street eh? Well, with Godlike Burger, you have a whole new opportunity to choose what (and who) is on the menu.

From Liquid Pug LLC and Daedalic Entertainment comes Godlike Burger, where you play a spacefaring chef whose most valuable ingredients are his own customers! The game is considered by the devs to be a “Crazy cooking sim/murder spree” and will release on April 21st for PC. Console versions will be coming at a later date for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Here is what the press kit has to say about Godlike Burger. “In Godlike Burger, you play as an eccentric chef whose most valuable ingredients are his own alien customers. He strives to create the most delicious and unusual burgers in the universe and travels the galaxy in a flying space diner in search of new inspiration.

Players have to acquire new ingredients (read: lure customers into traps and then turn them into patties), manage their restaurant, and avoid getting caught. By catering to their customers’ preferences for different kinds of alien meat, and upgrading the kitchen and their repertoire, they improve their restaurant’s reputation and can afford to travel to new planets. But they should never stay in one place too long because the space police are always on the lookout for the crazy culinarian with a bloody cleaver.

Admittedly, I think Godlike Burger is a weird and interesting twist on the usual cooking sim. Not many cooking sims make you commit space crime to get your ingredients after all. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one as it releases on April 21st, to see if I might want to check it out or wait for the console release.
