It’s been quite a while since I last wrote about U.K.-based development studio NotGames’ Early Access “newsroom simulator” known as Not For Broadcast, hasn’t it? I do adore the game, I just haven’t had the time to really dive into its second episode yet. Well, it appears that I’ve got quite a good reason to jump back into NFB in relatively short order.

The latest news comes courtesy of a Tweet directly from NotGames posted early yesterday morning. Within said Tweet, the studio announced that Not For Broadcast’s third and final episode will be releasing very soon. With this episode comes the game’s rather triumphant exit from Steam Early Access. For the record, the game will also be launching on GOG and the Epic Games Store on the same day its 1.0 release is scheduled to land on Steam.

NotGames mentioned in that same Tweet that the update will also include “several endings, new challenges, rewards, and achievements.” My gut tells me they’re referring to unlockable Steam achievements with that last bit. At least, I hope that’s the case. I’m by no means a completionist, but I’d be willing to make an exception to that rule for a game such as this.

As a cautionary note before we get to the reason you’re probably reading this article, I must say I wouldn’t be surprised if NotGames elects to increase the base price of Not For Broadcast once its third episode is released. In my personal opinion, you still get a heck of a lot of enjoyable and replayable content in exchange for that asking price. However, just in case the price does go up alongside Episode 3’s launch, you still may want to grab the game now if you’re on the fence about it. Now then, Not For Broadcast’s final episode is scheduled to launch sometime on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022.
