After the disheartening post a few weeks ago from EA about the Battlefield 2042 delay, fans have been waiting on news of the beta dates for the game. EA promised some news on the beta by the end of September and they finally delivered. The official Battlefield 2042 YouTube channel posted a trailer for the beta giving players an idea of what to expect during their time playing it. The website for the game is also updated to talk more about the beta.

Early access for the beta will begin on October 6th at 9 am CEST / 12 am PT / 3 am ET. The beta will become open to all players a few days later on October 8th at 9 am CEST / 12 am PT / 3 am ET. The beta will be active until October 10th at 9 am CEST / 12 am PT / 3 am ET. Players with early access can being preloading the game on October 5th at 9 am CEST / 12 am PT / 3 am ET. These start (and end) times and dates should be the same across all platforms.

On current-gen consoles and pc, the matches will be 64 v 64 to show off the new 128 player servers that will be coming with Battlefield 2042. However, on last-gen consoles, the 64-player limit will still be in effect, which means it will only be a 32 v 32 if you intend to play the beta on your PS4 or Xbox One. The beta will feature Battlefield’s iconic Conquest experience” on the new map Orbital. Players will have one specialist for each of the four classes: An engineer with a grapple gun called Mackay, a combat medic with a stim pistol called Falck, a support with a sentry gun called Boris, and a sniper with a recon drone called Casper.

The single featured map shows off a lot of the new map features that Battlefield 2042 is bringing to the table. Orbital will have an automated rocket launch during each game. Changing weather effects will culminate with a tornado that sends soldiers flying. There will also be a zipline between two lighting towers that players can fight on top of.

While fans were originally looking forward to the full release of Battlefield 2042 later this October, that hype can still be used as everyone gets the ability to test the game next week. Hopefully, the beta will go well and Battlefield fans can have renewed excitement for the full release of the game on November 19th. You can still pre-purchase the game now.
