The fifth season for Fallout 76 ends Sept. 7th, and Bethesda is helping players finish their “Scoreboard” with double points until the end of the season.
This season began July 7th with the Steel Reign update. This update brought a new set of main quests centered on the Brotherhood of Steel, picking up where their story left off in the Steel Dawn update. Completing the questline will reward the player with the Hellcat power armor.
The Steel Reign update also brought with it a legendary crafting system. Before this system, legendary weapons stats would be set when the weapon is obtained by the player. With the legendary crafting system, players can make regular weapons and armor legendary, and re-roll the legendary stats on weapons and armor they already have or would obtain.
To re-roll or add legendary stats to a weapon two new crafting components, legendary cores and legendary modules are required. The cores are awarded for completing events and the daily operation, which means they can be farmed ad infinitum. The modules can only be purchased from Purveyor Murmrgh in The Rusty Pick. The purveyor only sells 10 modules a day at 50 legendary scripts a module.
“Minerva’s Emporium” and “Minerva’s Big Sale” were two new events that were added to Fallout 76 this season. These events are not your typical in-game events that can be completed within 30 minutes but are half-week-long vendor events.
For three weeks a month from Monday to Wednesday “Minerva’s Emporium” is active in all Fallout worlds. During this event, Minerva will set up her shop at one of the three locations in Appalachia: Foundation, The Crater, or Fort Atlas. At her shop, Minerva will sell recipes as well as blueprints that other gold bullion traders sell, even blueprints that the player does not have access to from other traders due to reputation requirements.
On September 9th (after Season 5 ends), “Minerva’s Big Sale” will occur. This event runs from Thursday to Monday. During this event, Minerva will have a special inventory featuring items at a discounted price. Minerva will also have a different than normal inventory during the event.
Once the season ends, the items available on the Scoreboard will no longer be obtainable. While Bethesda may bring them back in the Atom Shop in the future or have a season dedicated to previous items, many items are unobtainable for the foreseeable future. Some items from the previous season have made their way into vendor inventories as gold bullion-priced items, but this seems to be a rare case with only a couple of items.
