Released back in 2018, the sequel to the Studio Ghibli animated and inspired Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has been announced to release on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Wrath of the White Witch was an enhanced edition of the DS game Dominion of the Dark Djinn, which clearly doesn’t make any of this confusing at all. The sequel, Revenant Kingdom, did not include Studio Ghibli for its development.
The game will release on September the 17th later this year, with the Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Prince’s Edition containing all of the previous dlc. Ross Borden, VP of publishing at Bandai Namco, commented, stating:
“The incredible artistry and deft emotional touches of the Ni no Kuni series have made it stand apart from other action RPGs, and we’re happy we can finally let Nintendo Switch fans experience the full breadth of Evan’s adventures on the go and at home.” He went on to state, “[…] Prince’s Edition tells the story of a kingdom in devastation, and of a group of friends ready to rebuild a kinder and more just world in its wake. We hope that new fans will embrace the game’s charming spirit of friendship and perseverance.”
Fans of the Ni no Kuni series or of Revenant Kingdom itself can pick up the game from September the 17th, or pre-order now on the eShop. The MSRP is listed at $59.99, with a physical edition available at retailers closer to release this September.
