The last time I wrote about Biomutant, I mentioned how I kept forgetting that it was still in development. However, soon enough I won’t have that excuse for not playing it. I’ll just have several hundred reviews in a backlog as an excuse. Yes, the strange little furry adventure game set in a land with creepy-looking animatronic hand vehicles is set to release in just over a month, and I personally can’t wait. I want to finally know what I am mildly excited about in the first place.

For now, I’ll be looking over the new trailer that just released the other day, showing off the world of Biomutant. It is a world that is overgrown and crumbling, a bit like Horizon Zero Dawn‘s far-flung future of techy-dinos stumbling around the ruins of humanity. In this case, there are slightly more fantasy/Japanese influenced elements, with the cute animal billboards/graffiti and quite strange tree roots shooting out everywhere. There are also many mechanical friends, such as mechanics horses, robots, and that hand I was on about.

The press release we’ve been able to track down announcing the trailer mostly trods over the same information you’ll already know and pre-orders. It speaks about the vibrant world, which has me enchanted with it in the first place, and the combat, adventure, crafting (YAY!) and the usual “your actions play a major part in the unfolding of the story.” With the release on May the 25th, it wouldn’t be long until we’re all unraveling that story ourselves either on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
