I talk about free stuff (included with a subscription or not) like it is a stereotype that my people are frugal, that and more recently getting drunk enough to drive into a vault of gold. Today is no different, as Ubisoft joined in on the festive spirit by “giving away” cosmetics in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. As of yesterday the 14th, you were able to pick up the Seafarer Settlement pack and Bayek outfit for Eivor from the Viking-based open-world.
Though don’t fret mon frére, for lack of a French word for the French publisher, you still have a few more days of free (as Ubisoft would like to insist) “gifts” ranging from games to similarly in-game cosmetics. The first of which kicks off with Ubisoft’s latest in the long-running Assassin’s Creed series. To which, some might be thinking, “[but] I don’t have Assassin’s Creed Valhalla!” Once again, don’t fret, as Ubisoft replied to the Twitter user with the same woes, noting: “You can still claim the gift and you will be able to access when you have a copy of the game.”
So if you may be holding off on the likes of Watch Dogs: Legion following reports of heavy crashing and bugs, and one of these days gifts do appear to be from the said game you’ve been holding off on, you don’t have to panic. Ubisoft did similar game giveaways this summer following the so-called “revelation” that developers are treated poorly, sexual harassment went ignored, and those harassing subordinates are the same horrible people behind poor decisions. Some of you probably picked up free copies of Watch_Dogs 2 and The Division. There is, of course, no word on what this cycle of “gift” giveaways will bring.
Those that want to pick up these gifts just need their Ubisoft/Uplay login details. Then you can either head over to the publisher’s site or use the Ubisoft Connect client, and claim the day’s giveaway. It is that simple. You, of course, only 24-hours to pick up each daily offer. Each day will start at 8 AM on eastern US time (New York). The offers began yesterday morning on the 14th and run until the morning of the 19th of December. Further details can be found at the Ubisoft Support line press release. Be sure to be quick!
