Things haven’t been going well for Naughty Dog lately, especially with earlier rumors of crunch and dissatisfaction amongst employees during the development of The Last Of Us Part 2. As a result, tons of major leaks and spoilers have been going around recently following the game’s initial delay due to COVID-19.

This has forced Naughty Dog to make an official statement regarding the leaks: “We’re disappointed that anyone would release unauthorized pre-launch footage of The Last of Us Part 2, disrupt years of Naughty Dog’s hard work and ruin the experience for fans worldwide. We want everyone to have the opportunity to play The Last of Us Part 2 at the same time and ask that viewing or sharing of the unauthorized footage be avoided

It’s not all bad news, however, as Naughty Dog also announced that The Last Of Us Part 2, which was previously delayed indefinitely, is now slated to release on PlayStation 4 on June 19th.

“As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19,” said Hermen Hulst, Sony’s head of worldwide studios, in a PlayStation blog statement. Not only that, but another PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima has been pushed a bit further back from its original June 26 release date to July 17.

There are a few finishing touches to apply and bugs to squash so we’ll put these extra couple weeks to good use,” Sucker Punch tweeted regarding the delay.

While it’s good we finally have a release date for The Last Of Us Part 2; it still sucks we’ll have to avoid so many spoilers before its finally released. Thankfully we don’t have to wait as long anymore.
