About a year ago, I reported that SINoALICE, a mobile game directed by Drakengard/Nier director Yoko Taro, would be coming out in July of last year. However, that did not come to be. However, a few weeks ago, the global SINoALICE dream came back, with a concrete release date of July 1st.

SINoALICE is a gacha game made by Pokelabo, with its Japanese release published under Square-Enix in 2017. In the world of SINoALICE, darker versions of fairy tale characters have come to life, with the dream of bringing the authors that created them back to life. Characters form temporary alliances, knowing that one day, they will have to turn on each other to make their dreams come true.

Originally, the localization of SINoALICE was being handled by Nexon. However, a mere two days before its original launch, the game was suddenly delayed indefinitely. There has been no news on SINoALICE for the past few months after the fact… until recently. Nexon is no longer handling the global launch of SINoALICE, with Pokelabo stepping up to the plate itself to get the game out there.

A Nier: Automata collaboration event was originally planned to happen shortly after the original launch. Now, while the Automata event is still going ahead, there will also be a Nier: Replicant collaboration event happening alongside it, which will probably also help advertise the upcoming remaster. Honestly, it’s kinda funny that SINoALICE was delayed long enough for Nier: Replicant to re-enter the public consciousness.

SINoALICE is holding a pre-registration campaign in the lead-up to launch, which, as far as I remember, is identical to the campaign they had before. People on Android devices can currently pre-register the game on the Google Play Store, though it’s not available on iOS devices yet. Hopefully, SINoALICE will actually release this time.
