Final Fantasy fans were left disappointed this past week, with news of Final Fantasy VII Remake’s impending release being delayed. Yet another victim of the delay season, this time however not as big as a delay as the previous victim, Marvel’s Avengers. Producer Kitase Yoshinori recently announced the game’s release date will be delayed by more than a month, the game which was previously meant to release March 3, will now instead be release April 10.

Developer Square Enix states the extra time will now be used for a final polish of the game. The tweet from producer Kitase Yoshinori reads: “We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on,” Kitase wrote in a statement posted to social media. “In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer,” Kitase continued. “Thank you for your patience and continued support.

It seems the developers want to take a bit more time to really fine tune all the aspects of the game to make it really shine, without taking too long. Waiting fans will get it soon while also getting the best quality possible. After-all, the remake is more than just a remake; it offers a brand new expansion on the original story, with improved graphics, real-time combat and much more.

Expect Final Fantasy VII Remake for PlayStation 4 on April 10th.
